The Neon Rush
I guess there's nothing more cliche than a couple of kids in a basement making noise.
We make noise until the noise makes sense, until the noise means something, until we know that it's a song. That's exactly what we do, though it has been a trip. We just started as Collin and Andy jamming in the fall of 2007 after they'd finish high school. But we wanted more than just some jamming in a basement, more than just a chaotic 12 bar blues. Out of the spur of the moment, Collin asked Mark and Daniel if they wanted to join him and Andy and create a band.
At the end of September 2009, two years after Collin and Andy started making noise in that basement, we had an album finished, mixed and mastered, called "Lines and Blurs". We changed our name from "Metrophish" to "The Neon Rush" inspired by the feeling of the sound in some of the newer works. We are still just a bunch of kids making noise in a basement, but maybe, we hope more people are tuning in.

"A grass roots feel in the digital age." RYO (Roll Your Own) Records is a Northern VA based indie record label that was formed by two long time friends Jarret Blum and Jason Wiltrout in an effort to promote the local music scene.
The name 'Roll Your Own' comes from a time when Jason was in a band that desperately needed money to record a demo. In an effort to contribute money to the “demo fund”, two members began rolling their own cigarettes. The band did raise the money and the demo was recorded, but that is another story…..
