'Alex' as he is affectionately called, is kept busy as a full-time keyboardist and recording artiste. Alex's talent was evident at a very early age and started formal study at the age six with Paulette Bellamy. He later 'sat at the feet of Jon Williams' and has blossomed into an exceptional musician who has mastered many genres of music and has delighted local and overseas audiences. He has toured extensively with Father Ho-Lung and Friends and also performed locally and overseas as a member of of the group 'Touch of Elegance' and has performed with Victoria Livengood who is an acclaimed mezzo soprano, who is a well known singer. He has accompanied a wide cross section of artistes both local and international artistes such as Ron Kenoly, Christine Fisher, A.J.Brown, Karen Smith, Sabrina Williams, Pam Hall, Harold davis and Friends, Stella lewis, Pluto shervington, Boris Gardner, Rovleta fraser, Freddie mcgregor, judy mowatt, ROOTS UNDERGROUND and other acts. Added to his God-given talent is his composed and amiable temperament, which endears him to the musical fraternity. He continues to be a valuable asset to popular recording artistes with his varied interpretations of Gospel, R&B, Pop, Jazz, Reggae and Dancehall. His playing has been influenced by great musicians such as JON WILLIAMS, Monty alexander JEFF LORBER, MICHEL PETRUCIANE, RUSSELL FERANTE (yellow jackets), ANDRAE CAMPBELL, OSCAR PETERSON and others.
Alex is also a studio session player and has done sessions with the likes of Sly Dunbar, Danny Browne, Computer Paul Henton, Benjy Myaz, Paul Kastick, Jon Williams and other well-known Jamaican music producers. Alex is also a composer and has composed music for popular TV shows such as The Susan show (Co-Producer), wealth magazine, Maggie show, nyammings (which he composed for Almond Productions), jis news program (Co-Composer),done jingle compositions for kfc, grace, gas pro.(when he worked at Almond Productions) And would love to compose music for film some day. Currently producing Christine fisher’s debut album (a well noted jazz singer from Jamaica, who happens to be his wife). He is also doing work for ace producer Rohan Dwyer and Devon sparks respectively.
Alex has just completed his debut piano album called “simply played hymns and worship songs I love”, should be out before the end of the year, coming out on the jabukem music label.
