Shane Gamble
Winter 2010 will mark the return of emerging tunesmith Shane Gamble, as he releases his third full-length release Shane Gamble . Following in the footsteps of Gamble’s sophomore release, Behind The Blue, this new album is an emotionally charged offering of honest and colorfully diverse music—from the shiny tremolo guitars of “All Over You” to the smooth baritone vocal and steady rolling lilt of “Rosalee.”
“It’s that sensation of suspension—whether tucked within the elusive emotions of love, mystery, or train of thought lyrics—that seem to drift throughout the music,” Gamble explains. Grooming himself on the classic sounds of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Black Crowes, and the late Chris Whitley, Shane has created a distinctive sound centered on his thought-provoking lyrics, colorful guitar patterns, and haunting ’70s-esque pedal-steel, while striking a delicate balance between pop hooks, atmospheric ballads, and pocket grooves.
Gamble says, “I like music that allows me the space to visualize and imagine. I can faintly remember sitting in front of the stereo as a kid listening to old, dusty records and being swept away; feeling the sound take me over. That’s what I want people to experience when they listen to my music.”
Gamble’s most recent release Behind the Blue was produced in his own Maryland based studio. “Producing a record is just as much about the process as it is about the end result,” says Shane. “I really enjoy working fast, relying on momentum and urgency to pull out the honest elements of a song. It’s not always the flawless performance that makes the cut, but rather the most authentic and candid. Just listen to an old Hendrix or Beatles record. A lot of that stuff was one take on 2" tape, and it is 100% vibe.”
After an impressive independent radio release of his single “The Story of Mary” and thousands of miles added to his touring van, fans can look forward to an adventurous release from Shane Gamble in early 2009.

"After the first two tracks on Shane Gamble's CD "Behind the Blue", I warned my girlfriend that she would be hearing it with regularity. From the faraway pedal steel on opener "Wait" to the urgency of "Simple Life" and the vivid scenes illustrated on "Village Train", Gamble and his band evoke a world both distinctive and faintly familiar. "Behind the Blue" exhibits the eclecticism of Austin, Texas and elements of Nashville's venerable tradition ("Already" and "White Fence" respectively). Gamble has a voice that is refreshing and understated while simultaneously intense and emotional. "Behind the Blue" is perfect for the highway ahead, as a prelude to a night on the town, or as a perfect complement to closed blinds and an open bottle of wine."

Shane Gamble like taking the road literally wherever it may lead. While in college at Salisbury State University in Salisbury MD., Route 50 led right to his house, and that’s exactly where he started his own record label. “I lived in a house on the exit ramp” said Gamble, founder of Rt.50 Music and creator of albums “Behind the Blue” (2005) and Talk About (2002).
His path, however, he also prefers to walk alone. “my process is to work by myself,” said the independent solo artist, who often heads to his cabin studio in West Virginia to craft his earnest love songs and quirky ballads in solitude. “Sometimes, I’ll wake up in the middle of the night (there) because I’ll dream about a song.
Gamble pens the lyrics to adult alternative tunes, and then works through the musical arrangements by blending in aspects of rock, jazz and pop. When it comes to recording and playing live gigs the singer/songwriter label exec calls on his stable of talented musician friends to help him out- as much as he can, given his affinity for live performance, especially in the clubs where he’s gained a strong fan base. “There are a ton of venues to play if you’re not afraid to put yourself out there” Gamble said.
