Soul Craft is a dynamic 3 piece band hailing from the Washington DC Metro Area, the spawning ground of the legendary DC Hardcore scene. The band was originally formed in 2006 but due to other musical responsibilities and life events, it did not find its solid foundation until 2009. The lineup consists of Andre Love – lead vocals and drums, Dan “DC” Curtis – guitar and vocals, and Jay Martinez – bass and back up vocals. With roots in the area, the band cannot help but be influenced by one of the DC icons…the Bad Brains, thus the name Soul Craft from the Bad Brains album Quickness. This main influence mixed with the eclectic styles from the band’s diverse backgrounds creates a musical experience that sends the listener through genres of Punk, Reggae, Hard Rock, Metal, and if the mood strikes, some Ambient/Trippy Grooves. Though some songs are influenced from different genres the common Soul Craft denominators are the bounce, groove, and off-beat nuances. Among a library of original songs, a typical set list will include Bad Brains classics such as I Against I, Attitude, Right Brigade, Re-ignition, and the list keeps growing. The formula that Soul Craft uses is simply to create music as fans of music.
