Artist Bio:
Stuart Newman is an unsigned 23 year old English songwriter currently living near Brighton (UK). He has a mellow acoustic, lyrical sound that resonates. Fans have described the music as "sunny days on a rainy sky" and "a Beatley Nick Drake". It's music for when it's late at night you need to think or be on your own. The music sometimes drifts towards the political... sometimes towards the quirky... Thinking music, for the thinking music fan. With influences ranging from right across the spectrum, Newman's writing draws from different creative pools, creating songs with different personalities. Fans have often compared Stuart Newman's music to that of Elliott Smith, Bon Iver, Sparklehorse and Leonard Cohen.
Newman's first album project "Single But Defective" has initially been offered as a free download in order to continue to spread the music far and wide.
New material is in the pipeline for the second album... new material includes the song "Head Hurts" (free download / video) , which was recorded at AudioBeach Studios, Hove (UK), January 2010. Newman went back into the studio on 15th August 2010 to record the new single "Feel the Temperature Rising" (free download / video), which has also been offered as a free download.
During July/August 2010, Newman designed and had made some t-shirts, which were sent around the world to fans for free, to any fan who requested a t-shirt (while stocks lasted)... t-shirts were sent to destinations such as Finland, Russia, Sweden, Romania, Taiwan and America.
